Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra Presents: Carnival & the Countess
February 12 - 14, 2027
Step into a world of celebration and revelation with Carnival & the Countess! Hector Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture launches the evening with irresistible energy, alive with rhythmic vitality and vivid orchestral color. Guitarist Eli Schille-Hudson brings warmth and virtuosity to Heitor Villa-Lobos’s Guitar Concerto, a work that dances between brilliance and intimacy, infused with the spirit of Brazilian folk music and song. The second half unveils a powerful and rarely heard masterpiece: Dora Pejačević’s Symphony in F-sharp minor. A pioneering Croatian composer of the early 20th century, the Countess Dora Pejačević crafted a symphony of sweeping late-Romanticism and striking individuality, by turns impassioned, luminous, and deeply expressive.
