Bainbridge Performing Arts announces 2019 - 2020 Season

BPA’s 2019 – 2020 Theatre Season offers something for friends of all ages with a cult classic, a magical tale just in time for the holidays, an intimate musical, a bold love story, and a spellbinding psychological thriller.

An award-winning, non-profit, community theatre, Bainbridge Performing Arts’ 2019 – 2020 lineup is steeped in thrills, magic, courage, and heart. In the words of Kim Hastings (Drama in the Hood/AXS), “Bainbridge Performing Arts could be a primer to the other theaters in the south and mid-Sound on how to do things the right way.” Vibrant performances, hit shows, and breathtaking artistry have emerged as the BPA trademark, and – in recent years – BPA has drawn increasing awards and accolades from BroadwayWorld Seattle, Kitsap Sun, South Sound Critics Association, and more.

Don’t miss a minute of BPA’s 2019 – 2020 Theatre Season: THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW – a cult classic and must-see for virgins and fans alike – opens the season October 11 – 27, 2019. BPA’s holiday production runs December 6 – 22, 2019. Roald Dahl’s MATILDA THE MUSICAL is a magical story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Join us March 13 – 29, 2020 for FUN HOME, a refreshingly honest, funny, and intimate musical about seeing one’s parents through grown-up eyes, based on the best-selling graphic novel by Alison Bechdel. Kate Hamill’s adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE runs May 1 – 17, 2020. Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. BPA’s Theatre Season concludes July 2020 with MACBETH and The Bard at Bloedel: BPA’s 8th Annual Summertime Shakespeare offering. Magic, murder, and mayhem abound in the beguiling meadow at The Bloedel Reserve.

BPA’s Theatre Season is rounded out by Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, The EDGE Improv, BPA Theatre School classes and performances, and a whole lot more.

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra presents a four-concert classical series featuring a star-studded cast of guest performers, masterworks, beloved favorites, original compositions, and special collaborations on November 9 & 10, 2019, February 8 & 9, 2020, April 25 & 26, 2020 (an off-site collaboration with Bainbridge Chorale to present Brahms’ German Requiem), and May 30 & 31, 2020.

The EDGE Improv delivers their riotous antics on First Saturdays all year long, and BPA Theatre School trains and showcases a rising generation of actors throughout the year.

“That was magical!” – “I should do that more often!” – “What a great show!” If thoughts like these follow you out of the theater, then it’s time for you to become a BPA subscriber! Stay tuned for our subscriber launch in March 2019.
