The reviews are in and The Full Monty is a HIT!
Read more at: The Kitsap Sun

THE FULL MONTY tells a heartfelt and timely tale of a community that comes together during economic hardship and follows their dreams.

Seeing how much their wives enjoy their “Girls’ Night Out,” unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self esteem, the importance of friendship, and the ability to have fun.

As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties (over everything from being overweight to child custody, bigotry to being gay), they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their demons and overcome them.

Folks, This Ain't Normal!

Saturday, June 2

Friend of the Farms present a talk with Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms, featured in Smithsonian magazine, National Geographic, Gourmet and in the New York Times bestseller Omnivore’s Dilemma by food writer guru Michael Pollan.

OURS IS THE FIRST culture with cheap energy, heavy mechanization, computers, supermarkets and unpronounceable food. Normalcy should include a visceral relationship with life’s fundamentals: food, energy, water, air, soil, fabric & shelter. Based on Joel Salatin’s book by the same title, his views are both sobering and inspiring. Historical contexts create jumping-off points for the future–a future as bright as our imagination and as sure as the past.
