Meet Island Treasure John Ellis!

You won’t want to miss The EDGE Improv’s first-Saturday performances at BPA, where the troupe’s riotous antics have inspired rave reviews from shrewd onlookers since the beginning of time. For more than two laughter-filled decades, The EDGE Improv has delivered ingeniously improvised first-Saturday evenings of on-the-spot comedy, all from audience suggestions. The troupe performs to sell-out crowds regularly at BPA where the troupe’s gambols and shenanigans have earned a devoted community of followers seeking respite from life’s wearisome routines and worries.

“The EDGE hopes the audience remembers…when we are on stage, the stage adds 70 to 80 pounds.” – Matty Whitman

“Only onstage with The EDGE is there an amusement park where you pay to sit in a hole, an elevator full of people taking a shower, and an exotic dancing car repair shop. All totally believable.” – Cynthia Lair

“The Edge is like therapy, but cheaper.” - Ken Ballenger, troupe member

“The Edge Improv is milk-through-the-nose funny. Really, I'm laughing right now.” – Rebecca Farwell, audience member

"Half of what I have learned from improv is exactly two times the third of what I've forgotten….you figure it out." - Matty Whitman, troupe member

“If you're up for some surprises then THE EDGE is your cup of tea. Or coffee. Or bottled spring water.” - Terence Wheer, author, actor and all-around good fellow

"We're visiting from California where we have nothing like this. Well, actually we have plenty like this. But not like this. I like this." - Dr. and Mrs. Lionel Pendelman

“The name of our group came from a discussion about improvisational performing. I started to ‘get it’ after a horrible scene where we stood on the edge of a volcano and talked about jumping. I later realized that a scene doesn’t really start until you jump. The fun, the craziness, the oddities all happen during freefall. To me, good improv is fun in freefall.” – Ken Ballenger
