It’s time again for Teen Shakes! Students will study text as scholars and actors leading up to performances on March 28 and 30. This course is an excellent way for students to stretch their acting abilities, build their resumes, and deepen their connection to the English language.
“The Tempest” is one of Shakespeare’s later and most evolved plays. It is a romance and a comedy, but does not shy away from tragic and mystical themes. It is set on a remote, enchanted island on which a sorcerer has been trapped for most of his daughter’s life. When some of his old enemies are tossed there by a storm, he is able to use his magic and his power over the spirits of the island to manipulate the situation to his advantage.
