Meet Margaret Lucas Cavendish, Duchess of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (1623 – 1673), English aristocrat, philosopher, poet, playwright, scientist, and Science Fiction writer during the 17th century. That's right, a female Science Fiction writer from the 17th century! In her utopian romance The Blazing World she explores science, politics, gender, and identity. In this fantastical tale, students will weave between "Mad Marge's" real-world struggles against sexism and her fictional tale of a world with talking animals and insects.

Our production camps are an opportunity for students to tell the whole story and gain the experience of auditioning, being cast, and learning lines, plus blocking, tech, and performance. If your child aspires to be in a Mainstage production, this is the place to start!
