Ages 12 - 19: Teen Lab Acting for the Camera

For our spring Teen Lab at BPA, our class will focus on the subtlety, vulnerability, and technique that comes with acting for the camera. While students as young as 12 are admitted, younger students should consider whether they are willing and able to put in the work and focus required to keep up with their more experienced peers.

Amanda will guide the class on what a professional Seattle actor’s life looks like (agency contact, corporate/commercial auditions, and more), character development, and the psychology behind acting (pulling from methods of Adler, Stanislavski, and local acting coach - Tony Doupe).

The class will also focus on scene study with a polished completed scene for each student’s acting reel (and/or the possibility of a completed short film if time permits). Guest teachers from Seattle’s professional industry will visit Teen Lab from time to time to share their expertise.

Students under the age of 16 must be signed out by a parent unless BPA has a self-signout release for your child.
