BPA presents The Who’s TOMMY October 12 – 28
Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) presents The Who’s TOMMY
October 12 – 28: Fridays & Saturdays @ 7:30 p.m. + Sundays @ 3:00 p.m.
The Who’s TOMMY is a high-energy, one-of-a-kind theatrical event that’s sure to be a sensation this October at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA). Peter Townshend’s tale of a young boy’s journey from pain to triumph is the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theater.
After witnessing the accidental murder of his mother's lover by his father, Tommy is traumatized into catatonia, and as the boy grows, he suffers abuse at the hands of his sadistic relatives and neighbors. As an adolescent, he’s discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball, and when his mother finally breaks through his catatonia, he becomes an international pinball superstar.
Director Teresa Thuman, who previously directed BPA hit productions including The Producers, Noises Off, The Secret Garden, Urinetown, and Little Shop of Horrors, is thrilled to be back at BPA and is excited to work with an immensely creative and enthusiastic community of performers. Along with musical director Corinna Lapid-Munter and choreographer Jessica Low, Thuman leads a super-charged cast featuring Jesse Smith, Cymbeline Brody, True Terra, Gina Russell, DeSean Halley, Tim Davidson, Arie Thompson, Corinna Lapid-Munter, Justin Lynn, Taylor Hebert, Clara Hayes, Rowan Lanning, Katey Hamlin, Madelaine Figueroa, Miranda Peterson, Lesley Lemon, Ryan Henesey, Bob Reed, Morgan Leader, Eli Pitasky, Ian Eller, Jen Carrillo, Jennifer Pippin-Montanez, Denise Harris, Walt Brown , Ryan O’Donnell, Andy Seltzer, Steve Crampton, Bob Cederwall, Pete Simpson, and Cade Strong.
