BPA Auditions for HÄNSEL AND GRETEL Children’s Chorus
September 21: Friday @ 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
@ Bainbridge Performing Arts
Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to hold auditions for the children’s chorus in Director Lisa Mandelkorn’s new English translation of HÄNSEL AND GRETEL on Friday, September 21 from 4:00 ‑7:00 p.m. The children’s chorus offers roles for ages eight (8) and up.
Engelbert Humperdinck’s wildly popular fairy tale opera is based on the classic Brother’s Grimm folk tale, a wickedly funny and magical holiday feast of dancing, beautiful music, delicious sets, and charming costumes that families will “eat up” with relish. BPA’s production is conducted by Kim Allen Kluge and includes musical direction by Victoria Whitlow.
Run dates are December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23, with performances Fridays at 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m., plus a Pay-What-You-Can-Preview Thursday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. Rehearsals extend October to December 2012. Those auditioning are requested to prepare 32 bars of music (any style) to be sung either a cappella or with an accompanist. An accompanist will be provided, but those auditioning must bring sheet music or a music-only accompaniment CD. All participants are requested to bring a headshot or a current picture to the audition.
BPA Auditions for HÄNSEL AND GRETEL Children’s Chorus are Friday, September 21 at 4:00 ‑7:00 p.m. Interested parties are requested to contact BPA Production Manager Deirdre Hadlock for an appointment at email@example.com (preferred) or call 206.842.4560.
