BPA Theatre School is NOW Registering

Senior Adult Musical Theatre Workshop for Ages 50+

Classes Meet May 20 – June 28

Join us this summer for a fun six-week musical theatre workshop with other adults ages 50 and up! Led by the talented Josh Anderson who recently music directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and BPA veteran performer and acting coach Barbara Deering, this workshop will build skills in singing, acting, and movement for adults of all levels of experience. No previous experience is necessary. BPA’s senior adult program is designed to encourage adults who have never tried theatre to develop new skills and to offer experienced adults a forum to polish their craft. Whether you’ve been looking for an opportunity to perform or are just interested in trying out your singing skills, this class is for you.

Education Director, Victoria Whitlow says BPA is “thrilled to offer such a unique experience to this age group of performers on the island. To work with theatre professionals and be able to share their art with the community is what we strive to accomplish through all of our Theatre School programming, and there are no age limits!" BPA’s senior adult performance last season was quite moving and made and impact on a lot of people. Victoria says, “This summer will be just as exciting, and it will include a musical element.”

Full group rehearsals meet May 20 – June 28 at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays and end with small group or private sessions in the early afternoon. The workshop will culminate in a final performance on the BPA stage and may tour as part of our outreach program to local assisted living communities. Cost for the workshop is $175.

The workshop will be held at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA), 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. Registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis and are processed when accompanied by at least 50% of class fees due. Bainbridge Performing Arts is able to provide need-based scholarships thanks to the generous contributions of donors to the Theatre School. Please email Director of Education Victoria Whitlow at vwhitlow@bainbridgeperformingarts.org or call 206.842.4560 with additional inquiries.
