BPA’s Chamber Music Series: Inspired by Folk Songs & Stories

Sunday, January 13 @ 3:00 p.m.

Local musicians and chamber music enthusiasts gather together for lively afternoons of performance and discovery as BPA’s 2012 – 2013 Chamber Music series highlights a mixture of strings, winds, vocal, and piano repertoire.

The program on January 13 showcases tunes and tales that inspired ethnically diverse composers to pen original works of all genres, and includes works by Sergei Prokofiev, William Grant Still, Jean Sibelius, Peter Schickele, Robert Schumann, Frantisek Xaver Thuri, and Aaron Copland. Patricia Beasley (clarinet), Suzanne Burton (flute), Royce Napolitino (baritone), Justine Jeanotte (violin), Samuel Brodsky (piano), James Quitslund (piano), George Ramsey (piano), Marshall Brown ('cello), Barbara Deppe ('cello), Amy Duerr-Day (oboe), David Baine (horn), Patricia Strange (violin), and Jonathan Graber (viola) are among the featured performers.

Patricia Beasley and Amy Duerr-Day moderate the series, which showcases talented artists of all ages in an accessible and inviting format. The series concludes on June 9.
