Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) Launches 2012 – 2013 Season

Celebrating 20 years at the heart of Town Square

BPA has been entertaining Bainbridge Island and beyond for over 56 years. Since 1956, BPA has served as the artistic heart of Bainbridge Island and is a community theater in the very best sense of the phrase. The talented and creative collaborations of actors, musicians, singers, writers, poets, dancers, and designers produce spectacular sights and sounds that fill the stage each month with BPA Productions of Tony Award-winning plays, beautifully crafted music performances from the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music Series, uplifting comedy from The EDGE Improv, an innovative and character-building Theatre School program for Pre-K through adults, and so much more.

BPA’s 2012-2013 Theatre Season begins October 12 – 28 with THE WHO’S TOMMY - the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theatre. Lisa Mandelkorn's brilliant new translation of Engelbert Humperdinck's wildly popular fairy tale opera HÄNSEL AND GRETEL runs December 7 – 23. THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COMPANY SPELLING BEE runs February 8 – 17 and reminds us that “losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.” Lisa Loomer's witty and thoughtful comic drama DISTRACTED runs March 8 – 24. BPA’s Theatre Season concludes with A CHORUS LINE, the musical for anyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line.

Join the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra (BSO) for its 40th Anniversary Season and help celebrate the orchestra’s vitality and contribution to the arts on Bainbridge Island. Performances for the BSO’s 2012-2013 four-concert season include “Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony” on November 10 & 11, “The Grand and the Pastoral” on February 23 & 24, “New! Pops Special: Orchestra Comique” on April 20 & 21, and “Symphonic Metomorphosis” on May 31 & June 2. New this season, the BSO celebrates its first-annual gala, “Savor the Symphony” on November 17.
