Announce Mid-Season Auditions at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA)

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is holding mid-season auditions for immediate placement. Of special interest are violins (first and second), viola, and horn. Players of all other instruments are encouraged to audition for the substitute musician list.

Auditions are by appointment only at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA), 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. Musicians are requested to arrive 15 minutes ahead of their arranged appointment and look for signs to the warm-up and audition rooms. Those auditioning should prepare two contrasting works of their choice that display the depth of their musical sensitivity and range of technical ability. Come prepared to play a total of five-eight minutes of music. Sight-reading for all instruments will be requested; music will be provided on site. Those interested in auditioning for principal positions will be asked to prepare excerpts.

Please contact BSO General Manager Clara Hanson for more information and to arrange an audition time at or 206.465.0455.

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. at Bainbridge Performing Arts. Upcoming performance dates are April 18 & 19, and May 30 & 31, 2015. Read more about the BSO Season at

Music has always been at the heart of the BPA mission, and the organization’s commitment stands undiminished to this day. It has the backing of a well-organized Board and a thriving institution. It takes a lively community of volunteer musicians and listeners to make such a commitment sustainable, and BPA thanks the BSO musicians and audience members for their part in keeping the classical music program lively and growing. Please join us for the BSO’s 2014 - 2015 Season and celebrate the orchestra’s vitality and contribution to the arts on Bainbridge Island.

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is generously sponsored by Wicklund Dental, supporter of our Youth in Music Initiative, and Fletcher Bay Foundation, who also funded music acquisition for the season. BPA is supported, in part, by Bainbridge Community Foundation and One Call for All.
