BPA Theatre School Winter Showcase offers whirlwind journey March 17 & 19

Aberown Studio presents
BPA Theatre School Winter Showcase
March 17 & 19: Tuesday & Thursday @ 7:00 p.m.
At Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA)

Join us in March for BPA Theatre School’s Winter Showcase, a family-friendly event showcasing talented students in 3rd – 12th grade. Director of Education Zandi Carlson is thrilled to see the students’ energies and determination come together as a tour-de-force on stage, and she is grateful to lead BPA’s talented cadre of teaching artists. She says, “In BPA Theatre School’s Winter Showcase, we’re pleased to take our audience members on a whirlwind journey from the world of Broadway to the distant Shakespearean city of Ephesus. It’s an evening of theatre for all types of theatre lovers!”

The performance begins with “Bainbridge to Broadway,” a musical revue featuring students from Broadway Dreams and Characters of Broadway. Written by Zandi Carlson and directed by Michelle Abad & Julia Beers, “Bainbridge to Broadway” presents scenes specifically written for the participating students. It strings together beloved Broadway classics and contemporary show stoppers in a never-been-seen-before, action-packed production.

Next up is one of William Shakespeare’s early works – “The Comedy of Errors,” directed by Tom Challinor. This Teen Shakes production follows two sets of unsuspecting twins. Though separated at birth, they now find themselves living in the same city. Mischief, mix-ups, money, and mayhem run wild in this madcap comedy.

Join us for a grand night of theatre not to be missed! The 2015 Winter Showcase appears at BPA February 17 and 19, with shows Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Tickets, $10 for adults and $5 for Seniors, Youth, Students, Military, and Teachers, may be purchased online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206.842.8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island.
