BSO Announces Auditions for the 2014-2015 Season

Announce Auditions for the 2014-2015 Season
Sunday, August 24, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA)

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is holding auditions for the 2014-2015 Season. The following positions are open: Principal horn, section horn, section trumpet, violin, viola and double bass. All other instruments are welcome to audition for the substitute musician list.

Auditions will be Sunday, August 24, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. Musicians are requested to arrive 15 minutes ahead of their appointment and look for signs to the warm-up and audition rooms. Those auditioning should prepare two contrasting works of their choice that display the depth of their musical sensitivity and range of technical ability. Come prepared to play a total of five-eight minutes of music. Sight-reading for all instruments will be requested; music will be provided on site. Those interested in auditioning for principal positions will be asked to prepare excerpts.

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. at Bainbridge Performing Arts. Performance dates for the BSO’s 2014-2015 four-concert season are November 8 & 9, 2014, and February 28 & March 1, April 18 & 19, and May 30 & 31, 2015.
