A Shepard classic, TRUE WEST examines family, marriage, and even business relationships through the lens of sibling rivalry and envy. Lee (a lonely petty burglar) covets his brother’s success. Austin (a Hollywood writer and family man) envies Lee’s freedom to roam about and pursue adventure. A sort of role reversal unfolds when each brother puts a toe in the other’s pond and finds himself drifting into a life where he does not belong. The internal conflict pushes them both to the brink, and in the ensuing booze-and-sleep-deprivation-fueled chaos, they nearly destroy each other.

Chris Soldevilla of The EDGE Improv and BPA’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Steve Nagle of BPA’s The Grapes of Wrath deliver stunning performances.
