Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the school, Bainbridge Dance Center presents six great performances showcasing more than 180 students ages 4-18, in ballet, modern, jazz and tap. Including twelve graduating seniors (pictured at right), the production features a new original version of “Midsummer Night’s Suite,” and advanced repertory choreography of Donald McKayle’s “Rainbow Etude,” the jazz style of Bob Fosse, the modern technique of Martha Graham, and a tap piece danced to a medley of great Broadway show tunes.

Performance of “Rainbow Etude” is by permission of The American Dance Legacy Institute and was restaged through the use of materials provided by the Institute. Based on McKayle’s 1959 masterpiece “Rainbow ‘Round My Shoulder,” its reconstruction is built upon Labanotation, music scores and videotapes.

Bainbridge Dance Center has been in continuous operation since its opening season in 1981 and has blossomed into a program offering dancers a high level of technical training as well as a life-long love for the art of dance. The school features nine faculty and a curriculum of levels I-VIII in all four techniques.
