Acting Out Shakespeare is a course for grades 8-12 and introduces students to the particular challenges associated with acting in plays by William Shakespeare. Topics covered will include language structure, text analysis, memorization strategies, and character development.  Students will select and prepare a monologue for use as future audition material, and they will combine with classmates in scene work to enhance skills in listening, pacing, and movement. 

This course will prepare students for Advanced Shakespeare, a production-based class slated for spring 2012.
